WE ARE OVER CAPACITY

If you find a cat that appears well-groomed and has a healthy weight, it is most likely owned. Do not feed a cat just because it looks hungry; always look for an owner first if worried. Even when skinny and scruffy-looking, cats could already be receiving treatment (or just be old!). Always knock on doors, put posters up and check with neighbours (not everyone is on social media). To get a cat scanned, contact a scan angels. Unfortunately, not all cats are chipped and neutered, so even if un-chipped, the cat may have an owner.

If a cat is injured, try to get medical help with a local vet and/or go to catchat.org to find your nearest rescue service offering emergency help. The same applies to healthy cats; make sure they are not owned before contacting a rescue or vet. Always make sure that a rescue has space for them before taking them in (unless you are able to care for them for the foreseeable future), as a lot of charities are working over capacity at the moment.

If you are looking to rehome your cat, please contact petrehomer.org ASAP. You can also try trusted friends and family. Do not post on socials, as there are people with bad intentions looking for cats.
